Danny Johnson first picked up a guitar at age 5. He started taking lessons when he was about 7 years old. He began performing at age 9. His first performance was in 1st grade at his father's Christmas party. His first band was put together in the 3rd grade when he first played a performance with a band. Later in 5th grade, he was asked to perform in a high school battle of the bands with all high school band members. In middle school he formed another band entitled "Semiconductor". This is when he first began his song-writing career. In 7th grade, he began working with producer Richard Podolor who produced Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" and Three Dog Nights "Joy to the World".
Richard or "Richie" is one of his greatest influences and motivations to continue in his song writing career. Along with working with Richie, he has also developed many skills in record engineering and mixing with engineer Bill Cooper who first introduced and got him started into the world of recording. After working with Richie and Bill, Danny took a big step into his career and decided that music was what he wanted to do with his life. The first song he ever wrote was Unfamiliar Ground. This song was co-written by himself, Spencer Nikosey, and Zack Zmed.
After writing numerous songs with Semiconductor, Danny moved on and began to form his solo career as a singer and songwriter in his freshman year of high school. His first time every attempting to sing lead vocals was in 9th grade. He released his first E.L.P. in 10th grade entitled "Songs About You". This album was written by he and his best friend Spencer Nikosey, who played drums on the record and directs Danny's branding and design. Right now, Danny is continuing to write new material for his upcoming shows and new record which will be released in the summer of 2007.
